Sierra Club today announced its endorsement of Pat Kemp for Florida State House District 58.
“We are very pleased to announce today that the Sierra Club officially endorses Pat Kemp for election,” said Beverly Griffiths, Chair of the Tampa Bay Group. “Pat has worked for years to protect our natural resources, our wetlands, and our coastline from oil drilling. She has been an advocate for clean water, clean air, transit solutions, and for building the kind of livable communities we all want for Florida’s future.”
Along with the endorsement, the Sierra Club will lend its volunteer strength to Kemp’s campaign.
“Given Pat’s history of effective leadership and accomplishments, we are pledged to do all we can to get her working for us in Tallahassee,” concluded Griffiths. “Sierra Club volunteers will contact voters on her behalf and inform them of Pat Kemp’s exemplary record of working to protect our communities and our environment.”
District 58 includes parts of Town ’n’ Country, Egypt Lake, Seminole Heights, Riverside Heights, West Tampa, and much of the Hillsborough River area up to Rowlett Park.
The primary election is Tuesday, Jan. 26th, and the general election will be Feb. 23rd.
