Send email to support the Tampa Bay High Speed Ferry

Update Feb. 5, 2014: The County Commission voted 6-1 to take the first step toward making this ferry system a reality. Commissioner Les Miller was the lone “no” vote.
If you’d like to see a High Speed Ferry connecting south Hillsborough county with MacDill, Tampa & St. Petersburg, now’s the time to speak up!
County Commissioners will be voting on this Wednesday morning, so send them an email now. (see sample email below)
For background, see the project web site: TampaBayHighSpeedFerry.com
For exciting NEW details to be presented at Wednesday’s meeting, see this document, about the plans for a waterfront public park at the ferry terminal, including the addition of new environmental lands to the county’s Environmental Lands Acquisition & Protection Program (ELAPP) — land that has been on ELAPP’s wish list for some time, which would connect other preserves into bigger & better habitat AND make a bike-trail connection possible to the ferry terminal from the planned South Coast Greenway Trail.

Please support the Tampa Bay High Speed Ferry (Wed. Agenda Item B-5)
Dear Commissioner,
Please support the Tampa Bay High Speed Ferry and get this exciting transit project moving as soon as possible. This is an innovative solution that will actually take cars off the road without the impacts and expense of paving more lanes.
At your next meeting, Wed. Feb. 5, Item B-5: please take the action recommended by your staff and approve the first step in making this high speed ferry a real transportation option for Hillsborough County.
Sincerely,
(your name & address)
