Thank you, Pat Kemp, for offering yourself as a candidate for Hillsborough County Commission. Although you did not win this seat, your candidacy did much good, at no small cost to yourself.

Your issues-based campaign elevated the level of public discourse and informed voters on many important matters, and caused the media and your opponent and others to get into the real meat of things like transportation, jobs & wages, natural resources, and human rights.

Your incredibly hard work brought your grassroots campaign so close to an upset victory against the big-money status quo that you have sent a powerful message to all our local leaders that we voters DO matter, we DO remember their past actions (not just in election years) and big-money campaign contributions may not be enough to get them re-elected.

Last but not least, thank you for pulling us all together on your team, so we can continue working together to improve our community.
